BAIZID GROUP was born and led by the hands of a visionary leader whose aspirations bring forth the best in people to come together and become social innovators and change agents of the country. With a view to provide avenues of opportunities of income generating activities for the unemployed and to turn a multidimensional market force into a causative factor towards alleviation of poverty in Bangladesh., ALHAJ ABU BAKR CHOWDHURY- a visionary, a philanthropist and a business person from Chittagong, Bangladesh developed the business activities in 1986 of Commercial Trading, Import, Export, Manufacturing of steel Products, Iron, MS Rod, etc.

11 Sep 1986
1986- Baizid Steel started commercial operation with a production capacity 50 Metric Ton per day I.E. 18000 MT per year.
04 May 1990
1990- Established CSS Corporation with an arc furnace to manufacture ingot, which was later replaced by a low frequency induction Furnace.
03 Mar 2001
2001- BMRE project of BSIL began for the establishment of automatic re-rolling mill with a product capacity of 45,000 MT deformed bars per year while disposing of the old manual rolling mill..
05 Sep 2006
2006- CSSCL procured two brand new Duetz gas generators totaling 4MW capacities.
10 Nov 2007
2007-BMRE
project completed to increase capacity of BSIL to 93,000 MT and a second phase
of the BMRE project undertaken for setting up a 170,000 MT/yr continuous billet
casting plant at CSSCL in place of the existing machinery. Formation and
registration of a new sister concern of the Group named CSS power Limited
supplying power to the existing concerns Group.
03 Feb 2008
2008-
CSS Corporation (BD) Limited (CSSL) BMRE project completed with annual capacity
of 170,000 MT billet. This prime quality is being used at Baizid Steel to
produce QST 500+ TM Bars and the rest are being exported to prime Re –rolling
Mills like BSRM, Anower Ispat and others for its unique chemical composition.
07 Mar 2009
2009- 7 unit of Generator set from world famous GE JANBACHER, Austria of total 21.00 MW capacity was imported and installed by German expert. Thus the total capacity of power generation reached to 25.5 MW.

2014- Baizid Steel Industries Ltd. Chittagong,Bangladesh has got the license of CRM for producing QST500+ TMT Bar which is first in Bangladesh to get such globally recognized license in steel sector.
